Question 1

Which AI tools do your engineers use?

Accepted Answer

Agentic coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor and GitHub Copilot, AI-drafted tests, AI first-pass reviews and MCP connections to your tickets and docs. We work inside your AI policy: your approved tools and accounts, or ours.

Question 2

Is our code safe with AI tools?

Accepted Answer

We only use tools you approve, on business or enterprise tiers with training switched off, or inside your own tenancy. Data stays under GDPR, and a human reviews and merges every change.

Question 3

How do you make sure the engineers are actually senior?

Accepted Answer

Every candidate goes through technical, communication and ownership screening; fewer than 1% of applicants join 99x. You interview and approve each person before they start.

Question 4

Who owns the code and the data?

Accepted Answer

You do. Contracts under EU law, IP assigned to you in full, data processed inside the EU under GDPR. NDA on day one if you want it.

Question 5

Can we start with one engineer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most engagements start with one or two people and grow on results. There is no minimum team size.

Question 6

How fast can someone start?

Accepted Answer

Typically two to four weeks from the first call, depending on the profile. Common stacks are often faster.

Question 7

What about language and culture?

Accepted Answer

All our engineers work in fluent English every day. Portugal ranks 6th globally in the 2025 EF English Proficiency Index. Portuguese teams are direct, pragmatic and used to working with UK and Nordic clients.

Question 8

Why Portugal rather than a cheaper offshore location?

Accepted Answer

Portugal is in the EU, so GDPR and contracts sit under the same legal roof. English is a working language — 6th globally in the 2025 EF EPI. The Portugal ICT Study 2026–2030 (German Outsourcing Association with 99x) shows 73% of Portuguese ICT firms already export, with the UK and Germany among the largest markets. You get nearshore hours and senior engineers, not an overnight hand-off.

Question 9

How do you use AI — and will it show up in my product?

Accepted Answer

Our engineers work AI-assisted across planning, coding, testing, reviews and releases, which makes delivery faster at no extra cost. In your product, AI only appears when you ask for it — built by people who run agentic systems in production.
